Skills and experience:

To be successful in this role, the applicants must have advanced skills and experience in the below:

  • Qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or InfoSec / Cybersecurity
  • Experience in application support, development/testing, or business/system analysis role
  • Superior problem solving and troubleshooting skills with technical and functional understanding of payments landscape
  • Windows Server 2016, 2019 & 2022- Managing core server roles: Hyper V, Failover Cluster, DHCP, DNS, DFS, Printers, SCCM
  • Managing Office 365 and Google Workspace
  • Azure and AWS
  • Network Administration of Cisco switches and CISCO PRIME (CCNA, CCNE).
  • Experience working in 24×7 support roster in an on-call and shift model
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills essential
 

Key responsibilities:

  • Communicate directly with client stake holders to gather and analyse key criteria in system capacity, required technologies, features and scopes.
  • Consult with industry partners to plan and document solution design, network diagram, core activity flows, project budgets, estimated timeframe.
  • Establish best practice, configuration template for core servers and network switches, routers, firewalls.
  • Simulate the deployment and monitor the system performance, resiliency in different scenarios. Document test results of the virtual environment against client expectation.
  • Coordinate departmental resources throughout the project stages to ensure a timely delivery of the project.
  • Work as leader of the IT team to install the system, implement configuration, continue the test, troubleshoot and update/patch process to remove all faults and enhance the original architecture.
  • Determine and maintain technical and procedural documentation such as System Architecture and design, Network inventory and topology diagram, IP access list and routing table, Equipment stock list, Disaster Recovery procedure, etc.
  • Continue monitor system performance, network traffic, resource usages of client site and resolve issues escalated from other technicians.

  • Motivated, self-starter; able to work autonomously, or as part of a team as the work requires
  • Resourceful – able to find and research information in order to derive appropriate solutions to problems
  • A good communicator, able to document technical procedures, and follow documentation of others
  • Ability to troubleshoot and fault find through systematic processes of observation and elimination
  • Previous experience in an education environment will be highly regarded.
